This series consists of copies of letters sent and letters received by the Pierre Indian School Superintendent relating to National Youth Administration activities within the jurisdiction of the school. The majority of the letters concern vocational training activities undertaken jointly by the South Dakota State NYA and the Pierre Indian School. Correspondents include the superintendent, state NYA administrator, Commissioner of Indian Affairs, superintendents of other agencies, Pierre Resident Center Director, enrollees, staff and faculty, and the public. Included with the correspondence are a number of narrative reports on the organization, functions, and accomplishments of the program.
